Our Mission
It’s easy to do great work when you believe deeply in what you’re doing. Our mission here at Elevated Youth, is to elevate children both physically and mentally. We believe that every child deserves to feel confident and to possess high self-esteem in all aspects of their life – especially when attending school. Unfortunately, not every child is given the same opportunity to attend specific programs, and are not given the same access to clothes and hygiene products. This is where we Elevated Youth come in! Our area of focus is both local and regional. Locally, at our afternoon programs we distribute hygiene products, higher-end clothing to the attendees and most importantly we offer free educational programs to kids K-8. The courses that are taught here are Engineering, Art and Computer Science. Courses that aren’t as accessible to underprivileged kids. Regionally, we help to serve the refugees from the Mexican border. Similarly to schools, we acquire and distribute higher-end clothing and monetary donations to families at the shelters from CATHOLIC CHARITIES Refugee Services located in San Diego. It is Elevated Youth’s mission to ensure that children in lower-socioeconomic demographics have clothing in which they feel comfortable and engender confidence and self-esteem.
Our Story
We embarked on this mission in late 2019, recognizing the privilege that shaped our upbringing. Driven by gratitude, we aimed to utilize our abundance of resources to make a positive impact. Focusing on our passion for fashion, and STEM we sought to connect with a cause that resonated with us.
While conducting research, we discovered that children in grades K-8 tend to perform better academically and exhibit higher participation rates when they feel confident in their appearance.
We also understand that STEM courses like Computer Science, Engineering, and Art, may seem unapproachable to students coming from lower-socioeconomic backgrounds, it may feel intense and almost scary to be bombarded with the requirements of tests and homework.
At Elevated Youth, we combine those two aspects and allow our attendees and students to feel they are in a welcoming and no stress community. Where instead of lending students, boring lectures, and tons of homework and tasks, they instead will be prompted by fun engaging activities, alongside team bonding in order to learn the fundamentals and be introduced into one of the three courses they are interested in.
